Four Loko XXX Limited Edition: New flavors, same UPC

Phusion Projects new Four Loko XXX Limited Edition drinks will feature a different flavor every four months, beginning with Green Apple in January 2011. The cans and packaging will retain one consistent UPC code to facilitate easy distribution and sale.

Jaisen Freeman, a Phusion Projects co-founder, says, "In the new year, we'll continue to introduce exciting new products that consumers love.  We built our business by responding to what consumers want, and Four Loko XXX Limited Edition continues that tradition."

Seasonal or limited edition packages consistently rank as the best selling products in segments such as craft beers, but distributors are simultaneously overloaded with new packages, cans and universal product codes (UPCs). Four Loko XXX Limited Edition reconciles these trends by allowing distributors and retailers to offer consumers the latest Four Loko flavors while using the same UPCs throughout the year.

"From our inception, Phusion Projects has always led the alcohol industry with new, innovative products, and we're building on that legacy with Four Loko XXX Limited Edition," says Jeff Wright, a Phusion Projects co-founder. "This product line represents the latest evolution of the Progressive Adult Beverage category-and since each flavor will only be around for a limited time, we hope our customers will try each one while they can and then tell us what they think about it."

"Like all reformulated Four Loko products, Four Loko XXX Limited Edition does not contain caffeine or other stimulants," adds Chris Hunter, a Phusion Projects co-founder. "We're in complete compliance with federal and state regulations, and we're looking forward to continued cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration and state alcohol boards in 2011."

Four Loko XXX Limited Edition Green Apple is shipping to select markets in January, and will be rolled out to all Phusion Projects' markets within the following weeks. The next flavor, Blueberry Lemonade, will roll out in May.
