For its new line of organic teas, Jones Soda Co. wanted to maintain the familiar look of its glass bottles that it uses for its other products, including various sodas, says chief executive officer Peter van Stolk. The company also wanted to create an innovative design for the tea. Working with O-I (www.o-i.com) on glass packaging in the past, Jones again turned to O-I for the Jones Naturals line, and desired a glass bottle (and a mold) that could take advantage of O-I's design know-how. It also wanted a quality look. The resulting fresh, new bottle shape stays true to the esthetics of the entire Jones product line while being smaller and lighter.

The results were a hit, according to van Stolk. The rounded, curvy container meshes well with Jones' expectations. “We wanted a premium look and some of the differentiating aspects associated with glass,” he says. “And O-I showed us how versatile glass packaging can be. Our customers are responding quite favorably.”
