Laura Mercier customizes cosmetics pack for retailers
The limited-edition Luxe Colour palette, part of the Laura Mercier Holiday 2010 collection, combines elegance and simplicity in a clever package design that is easily customized for its distinct outlets. Three packaging designs were created and are available exclusively at luxury department stores: SAKS (white palette), Nordstrom (brown palette) and Neimen Marcus (silver palette).
The chic "clutch" style design, with a metalized magnetic clasp, allows this flexibility in color between the cover and base.
HCT USA produced the vintage feel packaging, creating a custom insert for the palette complete with magnetic clasp. This package contains all the essential colors and tools needed to create a variety of holiday looks in one convenient, travel-friendly palette.
According to Rebecca Goswell, global creative director of HCT Packaging, "The allure of vintage has been an important trend within the beauty sector for several years, and we predict that it will continue to appeal to consumers bored with cheaper, modern packaging. Our challenge when creating this particular palette, was to capture the quality cues and fine attention to detail of compacts and ‘objects d'Art' of yester year, whilst at the same time ensuring that it could blend seamlessly with the clean, contemporary brand aesthetics of Laura Mercier. Indeed, being deliberately minimalist has ensured that, as a stock item, this palette is actually extremely flexible with alternative pan inserts and lid embellishment options in the pipeline for 2011."
This weighted, luxury compact has been added to HCT's stock line.
