Nestle pledges $1 million in bottled water for quake-stricken Haiti

Nestle Waters North America has pledged to donate $1 million in bottled water products to support disaster relief efforts and communities affected by the earthquake that struck Haiti on Tuesday.

Currently, the company has identified, accessed and is arranging shipment of bottled water resources from nearby locations in the Caribbean islands, with more to follow from Nestle Waters plants in the United States. Given the vast infrastructure damage caused by the earthquake, Nestle Waters is working with relief organizations to coordinate logistics of the donation to ensure the bottled water reaches those most in need as soon as possible.

The initial donation is anticipated to include products from Nestle Waters' Nestle® Pure Life® purified water, and the Poland Spring®, Zephyrhills® and Acqua Panna® spring water brands. With two million people in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas without potable water, this donation is likely just the beginning of what will be needed.
