152353-buhler_sortex_e_v1.jpgBy combining enhanced InGaAs technology, bichromatic cameras and shape recognition the Buhler SORTEX E is uniquely capable of ensuring product safety, says the company. Enhanced InGaAs cameras have been designed for stable operation in a packing room. The high detection efficiency of this new technology is said to provide clean and safe product with the maximum yield. According to the company, Buhler’s  InGaAs technology provides excellent detection of pale wood, cardboard and other packaging materials even in mixes containing potatoes and carrots. InGaAs cameras are said to detect these packing materials even in very complex mixes with very little yield loss. The company says that its new enhanced InGaAs technology option allows even better detection of a wider range of Foreign Material (FM), including insects, stones and cigarette filters allowing one mode to be used for the majority of products.
