Cable channel American Movie Classics has introduced a clever retro-style package for its Mad Men first-season DVD set. Shaped like the iconic Zippo lighter, the design perfectly evokes the show’s early 1960s Madison Avenue setting – a scintillating haze of cigarette smoke, booze, and other political incorrectness.
The DVD set includes a total of 23 commentaries for the 13 first-season shows – at least one for each episode. Also included are a pair of documentaries: “Advertising the American Dream,” about the advertising industry of the era, and “Establishing Mad Men,” which details the development of the show.
