Gold Award Winner Danone, in collaboration with Goplas, created the Mexico Yoghurt Cup, which features a flexible bottom panel that activates at sea level to prevent deformation with altitude changes.

Danone previously experienced issues with yogurt cups collapsing due to changing altitude during distribution, resulting in food waste and profit loss. The sealed-bottom wall also helps consumers to spoon out all the yoghurt.

The use of polypropylene and cardboard, rather than polystyrene, ensures the thermoformed innovation is aesthetically pleasing, durable and recyclable.
