Soymilk brand holds contest to let children design packaging

Stremicks Heritage Foods announced the relaunch of its 8th Continent Soymilk brand including the debut of new carton packaging this spring. The new 8th Continent Soymilk packaging will feature bright sun graphics, with a unique sun on each carton.

“As a family-owned and operated brand, we believe in making each batch of soymilk as if it were for our own family members. Our new packaging is designed to evoke the feeling of a bright new day – which is exactly how we want customers to feel when they drink our delicious soymilk,” said Lou Stremick, Owner, Stremicks Heritage Foods.

In celebration of the relaunch, Stremicks Heritage Foods is inviting children and their families to submit artwork in the 8th Continent Art Contest. Children and families can submit their own sun-inspired artwork at www.8thcontinent.com. Contest participants can submit multiple entries, as frequently as they would like, through 11:59 pm EST on June 12, 2010. All design submissions will be featured on www.8thcontinent.com in an online gallery where the public can rate artwork – from one to five stars – to help determine the winners.

Stremicks Heritage Foods will recognize 100 winners by providing $1,000 in art supplies, a total of $100,000 to their school art programs. Winning designs may also be featured on 8th Continent soymilk cartons beginning this fall. The number of public votes in the online gallery at www.8thcontinent.com will determine 50 contest winners. A panel of judges selected by Stremicks Heritage Food will determine the remaining 50 winners.

“Giving back to the communities we serve is a core principle at Stremicks Heritage Foods. In today’s environment where many schools face constrained resources across the board, especially for art programs, the 8th Continent Art Contest helps engage students and will provide 100 schools with art supplies that support their creative expression in the classroom,” added Stremick.
