Redesigned Flora Tea packaging

Hertfordshire, UK-based Abstract Group was tasked with coming up with a design that would be easy to assemble and load at point of sale. The new packaging uses a flower design with a secured lid to match the branding of the tea.

Trucard was chosen for its grain direction, as the material had to be able to withstand curved closure.

Abstract Group sales and marketing director Simon Breeze says, "The physical design works very well; the floral design for the box resembles a closed flower and when the box is opened it looks like an open flower. The Trucard folding box board matched our needs in providing a good print surface and bi-directional folding. The redesigned packaging came out just before Christmas and has been very successful. The Flora Tea Company has won a lot of new business including some top end clients."

The redesigned packaging was printed on a Heidelberg CD press.

Flora Teas are hand-tied individual tea leaves with dried aromatic flowers designed to form a tea ball which opens when placed in boiling water. The product was recently awarded The Great Taste Three Star Gold Award 2011.
