Ultraflesh embellishes Panthera mascara tube with sleek panther head

The new Panthera mascara from beauty brand Ultraflesh is a lash-building and lengthening formula that promises to deliver jet-black color as dark as a panther (hence the name). Made with a blend of natural waxes, this long-wearing mascara conditions lashes to keep them soft and pliable while promoting healthy growth.

Visually intriguing, the sleek black packaging emulates the dark, carbon color of the product inside. Made by HCT CA, the glossy black tube features a panther's head at its base, molded out of clear acrylic that is tinted black to achieve a look that mimics that of black glass.

The intricately designed injection molded parts were a challenge to pull off. Armando Villarreal, senior design engineer at HCT CA, explains, "The collar was molded as a separate piece with a matte finish to achieve a good transition between the bottle and panther head. We added embossed logos around the collar and on top of the cap to make the brand an integral part of the packaging design. In the end, we were able to create a sleek and unique component that looks like nothing else on the market while engineering a solid package that performs well."

Also unique to this product is a dual-purpose applicator that combines a brush with a comb on one side so ladies can create definition and length without clumps.

Sold exclusively through Sephora outlets, Panthera mascara is priced at $26 a tube.
