Zulka Morena Pure Cane Sugar, an unrefined, Non-GMO Project verified sugar, is now available in convenient single-serving, 100-count packet boxes. The new 4-gram packets mirror the brand's classic retail packaging that use clear, transparent bags to highlight the sugar's unique golden crystals and keeps the sugar fresh while protecting it from liquids and moisture.
"For years, Zulka has helped at-home cooks and bakers enhance their recipes with the pure, fresh flavor of our unrefined sugar," says Carlos Rionda, vice president of sales and marketing for Zucarmex USA, the parent company of Zulka. "We wanted to make the Zulka experience more accessible for all consumers, especially those enjoying their morning cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea at lunch, so creating new Zulka single-serve packets was a natural evolution for us. Zulka can be used just like refined white sugar, but is a better tasting and less-refined option, and we feel our unique clear packet helps convey this message to consumers by letting the sugar speak for itself."
Packaging Digest has learned that the packets, supplied by Plemsa based in Monterrey, Mexico, comprise a structure of polyethylene and polyester films.
The new Zulka Morena Pure Cane Sugar 100-count packet boxes are ideal for families and households that regularly drink coffee, hot tea, iced tea and more. The fresh crystals dissolve quickly, unlike many other sugar brands, and the single-serve packets are convenient anytime. MSRP for each 100-count box is $1.79-$1.99.
Zulka Pure Cane Sugar is also available in one-, two- and four-pound bags at retailers nationwide, including Safeway, Kroger, Albertsons, Walmart, Food 4 Less, SuperValu, WinCo, Superior, Winn-Dixie, El Super and many others.
