Golf tournament raises $45,000 for packaging training and education

PMMI's 2011 Education and Training Golf Tournament, held in conjunction with PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2011 at the Paiute Golf Resort on Sept. 25, has raised $45,000 to support packaging and processing industry education through student scholarships and continuing education efforts that support PMMI member companies.

In addition to supporting an important cause, the 136 golfers had the chance meet professional golfer Curtis Strange of the PGA Champions tour. Kodak sponsored Strange's appearance at the tournament, which included playing a hole with eight randomly-selected foursomes.

"With the addition of this year's event, the biennial tournament has raised over $400,000 for industry education to date," says Charles Yuska, president/CEO, PMMI. "We'd like to thank the players who signed up for this event, and our sponsors for helping ensure a strong and vibrant future in the packaging industry."

Schneider Electric was the tournament's Gold Sponsor. Other event sponsors are listed here alphabetically:
