PACK EXPO producer PMMI reports the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC), a PACK EXPO partner group, will debut the AICC Corrugated & Packaging Solutions Showcase (Booth 7303) at PACK EXPO International (October 31–November 3; McCormick Place, Chicago) as a showcase for its members.

“Although we have partnered with AICC on other PACK EXPO-related projects, this is the first time they have come in with a booth that is a hybrid of the association and a group of member companies,” says Jim Pittas, vice president of trade shows, PMMI, noting that it’s the first time any association has taken this approach to exhibiting at PACK EXPO.

“It’s a new way of looking at an association booth. Typically, when an association exhibits at PACK EXPO, it’s a way to ‘wave the flag,’ for its members, and possibly recruit new members. AICC’s innovative booth will promote the participating members as well as the association.”

In addition to spotlighting corrugated packaging solutions, the 13 members participating in the AICC Corrugated & Packaging Solutions Showcase will illustrate a diverse range of capabilities suitable for consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, cosmetics and personal care, pharmaceutical, and the general industrial and manufacturing end user markets.

“PACK EXPO is a perfect place to reach out to the packaging community and drive new thinking about what materials can go into packaging — and how. Our members will be showing foam, wood, corrugated plastic, displays, retail-ready packaging, machinery, print capabilities and sustainable solutions,” says  Steve Young, president, AICC.

The AICC Corrugated & Packaging Solutions Showcase is located on the lower level of Lakeside Center, in The Brand Zone which is home to containers and materials that shape winning brands. This pavilion also includes the Showcase of Packaging Innovations, sponsored by the Dow Chemical Company, and Project 2020: The Consumer Experience, sponsored by DuPont.

“Brand owners searching for new ways to have their products protected and noticed on the shelves will have an extraordinary range of innovations to see on Lower Lakeside,” Pittas adds.

AICC’s independent members represent the creative edge in corrugated and related packaging design solutions, and have more graphic and structural designers on staff, on average, than larger integrated paper and packaging manufacturers.
