PMMI's Board of Directors met April 18, 2009, and added 10 new companies to the PMMI membership. The new class of members featured applicants in each of the three membership categories, with two new supplier members, one new materials member and seven new general members joining the organization. The Board of Directors meeting was held in conjunction with PMMI's Executive Leadership Conference (Marco Island, Fla.; April 19–23).

"PMMI is happy to welcome these 10 companies into membership," said PMMI president and CEO Charles D. Yuska. “Even in a down economy, with companies cutting expenses, the packaging community recognizes the value of membership in PMMI."
