"According to a study by AC Nielsen, consumption of ready-to-drink fruit juice drinks increased by 4 percent in 2009," Luciana Galvão, marketing manager South America at SIG Combibloc, remarks. "There is a growing awareness in Brazil of the need to provide the best possible product protection."

To take advantage of the growth in this market, Grupo Schincariol, one of Brazil's leading manufacturers of soft drinks and juices, has started selling its Fruthos and Skinka brands in 1L aseptic carton packs. Grupo Schincariol is the first South American drink manufacturer in the non-carbonated soft drinks sector to offer its juice products in carton packs from SIG Combibloc. Both product lines are available in CombiblocMidi with CombiSwift screw caps.

"We opted for carton packs from SIG Combibloc first and foremost on the strength of the innovative properties the carton packs offer," Luiz Taya, marketing director at Grupo Schincariol, comments. "CombiblocMidi is fitted with the handy screw cap-combiSwift--making it extremely convenient for consumers to use. The carton packs from SIG Combibloc are printed using a high-quality gravure printing technique, guaranteeing superior print quality and the print image itself very aptly emphasizes the naturalness of the fruits and juices depicted. It makes the carton packs real attention-grabbers on the super-market shelf".

Grupo Schincariol uses a SIG Combibloc CFA 810 filling machine to fill the drink packaging. The machine can fill up to 166 cartons/min (10,000 cartons/hour), and its flexible setup offers Grupo Schincariol the option to fill 750-mLcartons in the future.
