Clarifying agent

The Millad NX8000 clarifier enhances optics with its clarity and gloss levels in PP. It can be used in commercial applications and in products made by injection molding, extrusion-blow molding and injection-blow molding, the co. says. The tunable property of the clarifier in random copolymers features clarity and gloss in PP comparable to levels with polymers and glass, as well as improvements in transparency of PP combined with a wider processing window and improved productivity. An injection molder normally processing PP at 240- to 260-deg. C can drop machine settings down to around 200-deg. C if they are using a compound containing the clarifier, the co. states.
