Neopac Wins the 2010 Swiss Star Packaging Prize
January 29, 2014
Neopac, the Swiss-based provider and inventor of high barrier Polyfoil tubes for the cosmetics and pharma industries, was awarded the 2010 Swiss Star Packaging Prize for the second year in a row, during last week's Luxepack Show in Monaco. The company was selected as a winner in the sale packaging category, for its Estée Lauder Perfectionist (CP+) tube with PinpointT Applicator.
Awarded each year by the Swiss Packaging Institute, the Swiss Star Prize is a highly-regarded honor that Neopac accepts with great pleasure. "We are very proud of the fact that our commitment to product innovation and superior quality has been recognized and rewarded by an outside body. It is a particular honor to be awarded the prize in our home region of Thun", said Cornelia Schmid, Marketing Communications Manager at Neopac.
The Estee Lauder Perfectionist tube is a Polyfoil tube that is manufactured with a highly-resistant, aluminium barrier as well as a Pinpoint head from Seaquist Closures, which allow for precise application of a high-quality, highly sensitive cosmetic product. The greatest challenge in producing the tube was the inline attachment of the Pinpoint component, which already comes with a metal cap. Neopac and the cap manufacturer collaborated closely, to ensure that the cap was perfectly positioned and remained unscratched.
Of the product, the Swiss Star Panel said, "The combination of the barrier tube with the PinpointTM Applicator brings protection and precise application together, rounding off with an aesthetically pleasing finish. The interaction between the metallic effect of the Polyfoil tube, gold embossing and fine silk-screen printing together with the perfectly fitting gold metal cap leaves no doubt as to the high quality of this product. The PinpointTM applicator is made to the highest standard in order to satisfy the preservation properties of the sensitive contents. As soon as the consumer stops applying pressure to the tube, the flow of the contents through the membrane is halted and the packaging remains hygienically clean. In awarding the prize, the panel recognised the effects and interaction of the various components used for prestige cosmetics in which case the packaging must satisfy the highest aesthetic and functional requirements."
