Gas barrier film

Bicor MB866 OPP film has improved gas barrier properties for modified atmosphere packaging applications. The 21-micron film features a polyvinyl alcohol coating on one side and an acrylic coating on the reverse to provide all-around performance for oxygen-sensitive dry products requiring MAP, such as fruits and nuts, cereals, snacks, roasted coffees and pet foods. The film currently is available in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

SBS heavyweight stock

Stock orders of "ready to print" solid bleached sulphate (SBS) in heavyweight thicknesses of 30 to 48 points are available for same-day shipping in quantities of 200 to 200,000 sheets. Most custom orders can be shipped in three to four working days. When thicker SBS is required, the traditional method has been to print on thinner material, then send it with unprinted sheets to a mounter. However, printing directly onto heavyweight SBS board using a sheet fed offset, screen printed or flatbed digital printer saves approximately $0.25 per sheet-while reducing turnaround time. Heavyweight SBS is also available up to 96 points thick for point-of-purchase (POP) signage.

Provalin sealing liner for metal closures for glass jars is BPA-, melamine-, PVC- and plasticizer-free, and it can be used for all heat-treated (pasteurization and sterilization) products, for cold-filling and storage, and for a variety of lid sizes, the company says.
