With increased functionality, Packexpo.com -- featuring online registration for PACK EXPO International 2010 (McCormick Place, Chicago; Oct. 31-Nov. 3) -- is live and updated for this Fall's show.

Show organizer PMMI estimates the show will feature more than 1,600 exhibitors and 1.1 million net square feet of exhibit space. New features on Packexpo.com enable attendees to make the most of their show experience -- before even setting foot on the trade show floor.

"PACK EXPO will be the largest packaging and processing event in the world this year," says Charles D. Yuska, president and CEO of PACK EXPO producer PMMI. "The tools we have implemented on Packexpo.com give attendees the ability to set their agendas ahead of time so they can hit the ground running in Chicago."

Online & On-Site Features Help Attendees Achieve Goals
Because of PACK EXPO's expanded focus on processing solutions, Packexpo.com will include market-specific landing pages.

"We want every attendee to be able to easily find the information and exhibitors they need most," Yuska says, "And the features we've added and will add are there with that goal in mind."

Among the newest additions will be industry-specific landing pages for processors and packagers in food, beverage, confection, pharmaceutical and personal care.

"These landing pages will connect attendees with trends and issues impacting their markets and finding the PACK EXPO exhibitors who can provide the technology they need," Yuska adds.

Additionally, many of the new features of PACK EXPO International 2010 will have a dedicated area of packexpo.com. New features planned on site and online to date include The Brand Zone, The PROCESSING ZONE, The Confectionery Pavilion, sponsored by the National Confectioners Association (NCA), the Reusable Packaging Pavilion sponsored by the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) and the DistriPak Pavilion, sponsored by the NPTA Alliance The site will also provide information on PACK EXPO Green, and the fifth annual PACK EXPO Selects competition.

And because each exhibiting company will receive a comprehensive online booth for posting detailed product pages, new product press releases and information on added-value programs available at PACK EXPO, searching for exhibitors will be easier than ever. The online listings will remain accessible for several months after the show closes.

"It's always a good idea to set your agenda before attending a trade show of any size," Yuska notes. "But because of the breadth and depth of PACK EXPO International 2010, pre-planning will be crucial. The tools on Packexpo.com were created to help attendees use their time in Chicago efficiently and effectively, so they return to the office with solutions for achieving their business goals."

Packexpo.com will also keep attendees up to date with links to PACK EXPO's Twitter feeds and Facebook fan page. Other resources include:

Exhibitor product news releases
Links to the official PACK EXPO housing site for specially-negotiated hotel rates, and the Chicago Travel page, which includes destination information and special airline discounts;

Industry Resources connecting users with PMMI U, PMMI Certified Trainer and the PMMI Career Center; and

Translations of show information into Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

Early Registration Provides Savings and Early Access to My PACK EXPO portal
Packexpo.com makes early registration easy -- and cuts costs by half. Attendees registering online before Oct. 18 will pay $30 each for admission. Full admission ($60) will be charged online after Oct. 18, and on site at the show. The admission fee allows access to all PACK EXPO exhibits, the co-located Converting and Package Printing EXPO (CPP EXPO) event and show floor features such as The Brand Zone, THE PROCESSING ZONE and association-sponsored pavilions.

After registering, attendees can use their My PACK EXPO interactive portals to locate specific suppliers and solutions, make booth appointments with exhibitors, explore educational sessions and chat with industry peers. Also, as the show approaches, PACK EXPO attendees will be able to download ChirpE, a PDA application for linking directly to Packexpo.com.
