Constar announces plans to streamline operations
Constar International Inc. today announced that it is consolidating plant operations, specifically closing its Orlando, Florida and Kansas City, Kansas facilities, as well as taking salaried headcount reductions in its corporate ranks. In total, approximately 250 employees are affected by these actions. The Orlando facility is expected to close at the end of this year, while the Kansas City plant is expected to close in the first quarter of 2011.

Nordson wins 2010 German Packaging Award
The MiniBlue II adhesive applicator from Nordson Corporation recently won the 33rd annual German Packaging Award during the FachPack Trade Fair in Nuremberg, Germany. A panel of 14 packaging industry and national trade association experts selected the MiniBlue II applicator based on criteria including, economic impact on the manufacturing process, sustainability, engineering innovation, user-friendliness, safety and design aesthetics.

Enercon’s Zito elected to Packaging Hall of Fame
Enercon’s Bill Zito has been elected to the Packaging Hall of Fame Class of 2010. The year’s honorees were selected this month by the Packaging Hall of Fame Commission, a panel of professionals representing all aspects of packaging. The Packaging Hall of Fame Class of 2010 will be inducted Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 5:15 pm, in a special reception at the Hyatt McCormick Place. Novelis announces senior management appointments
Novelis Inc. announced the appointments of Karen K. Renner as Vice President and Chief Information Officer, effective October 25, 2010, and Kim Adler as Vice President, Communications and Government Affairs, effective October 18, 2010. Joining Novelis as Vice President and CIO, a new position for the company, Ms. Renner will lead the development of global enabling technology, providing high quality business solutions and support structures to strengthen the company's information technology infrastructure.  In addition, Ms. Renner will serve on the Novelis Executive Committee. As Vice President, Communications and Government Affairs, Ms. Adler will develop a comprehensive global communications strategy for the company.  Ms. Adler will also serve on the Novelis Executive Committee.
