Almac’s US Headquarters Will Address Capacity Demand for Clinical Supplies
Almac has addressed ongoing industry developments by greatly expanding their capacity in the New North American Headquarters. Increased storage space was sparked by current trends and forecasts in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically the growing demand for biologics. Biologics, which are protein based, require cold storage to prevent degradation where as “small-molecule” drugs (non-protein based) can be stored at room temperature. Almac has made accommodations for growth by building a 271,000 cubic ft. 2-8°C cold storage facility.

Sustainable Solutions Corporation Spins-Off Certification Division
Sustainable Solutions Corporation, a leading provider of corporate sustainability programs, training and green design, announced Thursday that it has spun off the certification division of its business, creating GreenCircle Certified, LLC as an independent, third- party company that will certify sustainability claims for businesses and organizations. GreenCircle Certified, LLC will substantiate sustainability claims in the following areas: recycled content, rapidly renewable resource content, closed loop product, sustainable manufacturing practices, life cycle assessment optimized, carbon footprint reduction, and renewable energy use.

Mondi announces price increase of 100 Euro per ton for sack kraft paper
Mondi, has announced a price increase of 100€/ton for all sack kraft paper grades. The increase will be implemented for deliveries effective August 1, 2010 for all European markets. Conny Josefsson, Sales and Marketing Director Kraft Paper, states that although prices have risen several times this year the announced increase will only return prices back to the level seen in the beginning of 2008. He anticipates that prices may increase further towards the end of the year to compensate for the steep increases in raw material costs.
