EXAL to open new plants in Brazil to manufacture and fill aluminum aerosol cans
The Board of Directors of the EXAL Group has approved the investment to build two new plants in Brazil, including the installation of new aluminum aerosol can manufacturing and filling lines. The expansion is needed to meet the increasing demand for premium aerosol products in the Brazilian market.
Novelis announces price increase on aluminum rolled products in Europe
Novelis announced that it is increasing the prices of the specialty aluminum sheet products that it sells to European distribution and industrial customers. The company's fabrication charge will increase by up to 140 Euros per ton, depending on the product. The price change is effective immediately for all new orders booked and for all shipments on or after January 1, 2011. Orders currently under a fixed contract are not affected by this announcement.
Berry Plastics Corporation to expand Peosta, Iowa facility
Berry Plastics Corporation announced that its facility in Peosta, IA, has been selected for a major expansion of their manufacturing and warehousing operations. The Peosta plant makes injection blow molded, extrusion blow molded and stretch blow molded bottles for the healthcare, food and personal care markets. Berry Plastics will invest in new bottle manufacturing equipment creating more than 12 new jobs and Captive Realty Company of Iowa will invest in the building expansion resulting in a total project capital commitment of approximately $8.8 million. The project will begin immediately and is targeted for completion in the second quarter of 2011.
