PPC welcomes Mankato Carton as latest principal member
The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) announces new principal member--Mankato Carton of North Mankato, MN. With more than 75 years experience in the packaging industry, Mankato Carton is a producer of printed material and packaging components for the wholesale and retail industries. They produce folding cartons, blister cards, clam cards, skin cards, and header cards for companies in the automotive, cosmetic, electronics, medical, food, and personal care industries.
OEC Graphics' installation of HD Flexo system grows business
OEC Graphics, a prepress supplier to converters and consumer packaging companies, is diverting business from gravure and offset following the January 2010 installation of its EskoArtwork CDI Advance 1750 with EskoArtwork HD Flexo version 2.0 and inline UV capability. Nine months after the installation, OEC combined two technologies: EskoArtwork HD Flexo paired with in-the-round (ITR) sleeve production for with high-definition flexo imaging and screening of sleeves. With EskoArtwork HD Flexo and ITR, OEC is expanding its business, taking on jobs previously done in offset or gravure and making plates for other prepress companies.
New Jersey Packaging Executives Club names NJPEC 2011 Hall of Fame Finalists
New Jersey Packaging Executives Club (NJPEC) announces the finalists to be inducted into its Hall of Fame for 2011. The honorees are: John Lawlor - (in memorium) - founder of American Packaging Co., Norcross Products Inc., American Bottle & Cap Inc. and Nature Clean Inc.; John Alonge, Avon senior manager of engineering; Ted Boccuzzi, president and owner of Advanced Distribution Systems; Lorraine Ahart, vp of package development for Victoria's Secret, and Jim Pfister, president for Finished Goods Enterprises Inc.
Bepex Intl. sells its first FDA-approved plastic bottle recycling system
Bepex Intl. announces the first sale of its FDA-approved line of plastic bottle recycling systems, called BePET to Thanh Tai Gas Company of Vietnam. The FDA-approved system will recycle up to 1.5 billion PET bottles per year while simultaneously controlling final product quality. The new system is engineered to enable Thanh Tai Gas Co. to cost-effectively recycle PET flake.
Temple-Inland to review announced tender offer from International Paper
Temple-Inland Inc. acknowledged that International Paper Company announced that it will be commencing an unsolicited offer to acquire all of the outstanding shares of common stock of Temple-Inland for a price of $30.60 per Temple-Inland share in cash.
Alcoa Named One of Brazil's Most Sustainable Companies
Alcoa in Brazil was ranked as the most sustainable company in the Metals sector and 11th overall of 100 companies considered in a study by major business media in Brazil. The list will be published in the August issue of the Brazilian national news magazine Imprensa.

Ball Corp. has delisted its shares from the Chicago Stock Exchange. The company will continue to list its shares on the New York Stock Exchange, its primary listing exchange.
