RockTenn announces price increase on CartonMate bleached paperboard products
RockTenn announced a $50 per ton price increase on CartonMate bleached paperboard products. Price increases are effective with shipments on April 21, 2010.

TricorBraun package wins NACD Bernard M. Seid award
The National Association of Container Distributors (NACD) is announced TricorBraun’s package for Smart & Silky Hand Sanitizers as winner of the Bernard M. Seid “Best of Show” award for 2010. The award is named as a memorial to Bernard M. Seid, a valuable contributor to NACD and an innovator in the packaging industry.

Hilco Industrial completes sale of Aleris aluminum foil plant
Hilco Industrial, LLC, a leading distressed asset disposition and acquisition company, and its joint venture partners, announced the sale of an aluminum foil production facility, formerly owned by Aleris International, a global producer of aluminum rolled and extruded products, recycled aluminum, and specification alloys. The plant, located in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada, was purchased by the joint venture from the estate of the bankrupt company for $10.5 million. Hilco then launched a worldwide marketing campaign to sell the facility in its entirety. An auction was staged on March 10, 2010, which drew more than 200 bidders. The winning bid for the facility in its entirety was from an undisclosed buyer located in the Peoples Republic of China.

Conwed Plastics, LLC achieves carbon neutral status
Conwed Plastics, LLC, the global leader in providing innovative and comprehensive plastic netting solutions, announced that it has achieved carbon neutral status for the global enterprise and its products through its annual reduction in carbon emissions and its membership with the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX). Reducing carbon emissions is part of a larger sustainability program for Conwed that includes such programs as energy and water conservation and an aggressive goal to reduce carbon emissions by 1% annually.
