Exopack, LLC completes purchase of two cheese and meat facilities from Bemis Company
Exopack LLC, an affiliate company of Sun Capital Partners, Inc., today announced the completed purchase of certain retail natural cheese and fresh red meat performance plastic packaging business assets from Bemis Company. This purchase includes operating facilities in Menasha, WI and Catoosa (Tulsa), OK and encompasses industry recognized brands such as Halo®, ClearShield® and Maraflex®. The transaction closed with regulatory approval and was completed for a cash price of $82 million. The divested business recorded 2009 net sales of approximately $156 million.
CAPS launches Southern California reusable shipping container service center
Container and Pooling Solutions (CAPS) announces the launch of its newest reusable shipping container service center. In order to support a steady increase in West Coast customers requiring bulk liquid storage containers, CAPS has recently moved its California operations to a larger facility located in Norco, CA. Launching a facility primarily aimed at meeting the needs of liquid container rental, cleaning and repair clients required CAPS to secure a warehouse meeting the most stringent food grade manufacturing standards, to ensure CAPS’ customers remain in compliance with all food and beverage industry guidelines.
Graphic Packaging increases prices on coated recycled board
Graphic Packaging International, Inc., announced a price increase of $40 per ton for its PaceSetter® coated recycled board (CRB), effective with shipments on or after August 9, 2010.
Associated Packaging Technologies selects FirstCarbon Solutions to help record, report and reduce supply chain greenhouse gas emissions
FirstCarbon Solutions announced that Associated Packaging Technologies (APT), a leading source for plastic food trays in the North American frozen food industry, has selected FirstCarbon Solutions for supply chain greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting. FirstCarbon Solutions is working with APT to create a GHG emissions inventory, produce auditable GHG footprint reports, align reporting to the international standards of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and ultimately help the manufacturer reduce emissions across its global supply chain.
Joe Platek joins ACS Group as Application Engineer for Size Reduction Division
ACS Group has named Joe Platek the new Application Engineer for the Size Reduction Division, where he will assist the Product Specialists with layouts and concept drawings. Joe also helps to run the test lab for customers and sales representatives with various materials on large and small scales as well as speak with new customers to gather all of the proper information for their specific needs. Prior to joining ACS Group, Joe worked for Brazing Manufacturer and was an Application Engineer for 3 years at Lucas Milhaupt, Inc.
