Sonoco Recycling Charlotte to become a full-scale material recovery facility
Work is underway to transition Sonoco Recycling, Inc.’s Charlotte Recycling Center into a full-scale material recovery facility (MRF) by early summer 2010. The $2.6 million project will result in the Charlotte center, located at 3901 Barringer Drive, becoming the third MRF owned and operated by the Company in the Southeast. The others are located in Raleigh, N.C., and Columbia, S.C.
        
Albemarle promotes Luke Kissam to president
Albemarle Corporation announced that Luke Kissam has been elected President of the company. In this role, Mr. Kissam will oversee all aspects of the company's global business and operational activities. An industry veteran with over twenty years of experience, Mr. Kissam joined Albemarle as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in 2003. Since that time, he has held several roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Law, and Corporate Secretary and was named Executive Vice President in May 2009.

FTA honors two companies for its Environmental Excellence Award Competition
The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) recognized two of its member-companies in the 10th Annual FTA Environmental Excellence Award competition for their outstanding achievements. Specialty Printing LLC of East Windsor, CT took top honors in the competition with its process improvement initiatives and Robbie Fantastic Flexibles of Lenexa, KS, earned an honorable mention.

Source 44 adds Mike Fraser as EVP and Chief Development Officer
