Packaging materials: Splicing tapes

The co. now offers three heat-activated tapes, ARclad® 7970LC, ARclad® 7970 and ARclad® 6194, as alternatives for splicing specialty paper and heavyweight materials that are not typically spliced with PSA tapes. ARclad7970LC is a 1.0-mL, heat-activated transfer adhesive with double-sided bonding for overlap splices in specialty papers and newsprint applications. ARclad7970 is a 2.0-mL transfer adhesive that features the same heat-activated transfer adhesive as ARclad 7970LC, but in a higher adhesive coat weight to provide reliable splices in materials often unsuitable for standard PSAs including foams, corks, felts, fabrics, metals, plastic films and plasticized PVC. ARclad6194 is a 6.4-mL, single-coated heat-activated tape designed for butt splicing textiles as a safer alternative to traditional labor-intensive seaming and sewing splicing methods.
