The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) are accepting abstracts for sessions and posters for the 2025 Kilmer Conference. The conference, titled “Next Generation Microbiological Quality and Sterility Assurance,” takes place February 3 - 6 in Orlando, FL.
AAMI and PDA are seeking submissions on a variety of topics, many of which are pertinent to healthcare packaging. These include:
Microbiological quality control, aseptic and sterilization process validation, and monitoring
Sterilization processes and modalities
Materials compatibility
Device and drug product packaging innovation
Sustainability
Career development

The Kilmer Conference is a memorial conference to celebrate the contributions of Fred Kilmer, a pioneer in infection prevention. Kilmer was a leader in the pharmaceutical industry and director of Johnson & Johnson’s scientific laboratory from 1889 to 1934.
J&J has hosted ten conferences for invited professionals in microbiological quality, assurance of sterility, and infection control from industry, academia, regulatory authorities, and healthcare delivery organizations.
According to its website, the conference “is a great venue for exchanging ideas with the brightest minds in sterility assurance and building a network to share best practices.”
Abstracts should be submitted by August 31, 2024 via the event’s 2025 Abstract Submission Form. Most sessions are 15 - 20 minutes, and a single presenter is preferred.
AAMI is a voluntary consensus standards organization for the development, management, and use of safe and effective medical technology. PDA is a nonprofit trade group for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturers.
