Earlier this year, the Arthritis Foundation and Target released the first two of six design guides for packaging engineers and designers focused on ease-of-use rigid packaging. Three additional guides launch this month covering sealed trays and cards, films and pouches, and boxes and bags.

Arthritis affects nearly 60 million adults and causes chronic, debilitating pain, making it difficult to perform daily tasks, such as opening medication. Through its partnership with Target, the Arthritis Foundation’s ease-of-use design guides serve as a resource for designing innovative packaging that helps people with chronic pain and limited mobility.

To access the guidelines, visit the Arthritis Foundation’s Ease of Use Certification webpage and fill out a brief form.
