Sterile Packaging: Honor the Legacy, Embrace the FutureSterile Packaging: Honor the Legacy, Embrace the Future
This year’s Sterile Packaging Day celebration recognizes past successes and looks to next-gen developments in sterile packaging.

This year marks the 30-year anniversary of the Sterilization Packaging Manufacturers Council (SPMC) and the 5-year anniversary of the organization’s Sterile Packaging Day, an occasion that celebrates advancements in medical device and pharmaceutical sterile packaging.
While last year’s event paid homage to the frontline workers that maintain sterility until the point of care, the theme for 2025 takes a look back at some of the most significant advances in sterile packaging, as well as a look forward at innovations on the horizon.
The celebration, titled “From Foundations to Futures!,” takes place on February 5 both in person at MD&M West in Anaheim, California, and online via LinkedIn.

Those attending in person are encouraged to positively impact lives and help others by donating blood. Once again, SPMC and MD&M West event producer Informa are teaming up for a Red Cross Blood Drive from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center, Hall E, Booth 379. The goal is to fill every slot available for the blood drive. Sign up now.
Put yourself in the picture … and spread the word.
Those joining the LinkedIn celebration won’t be able to donate blood, but they can show their support by sharing what they and their companies are doing on Sterile Packaging Day. And to place themselves in a Sterile Packaging Day frame of mind, virtual attendees can download a free commemorative photo frame artwork, place a photo of themselves or their team inside, and post it with a celebratory message using the hashtags #SterilePackagingDay and #FromFoundationsToFutures.
While a picture like this is worth a thousand words, attendees only need one word to express what the theme “From Foundations to Futures!” means to them. After filling in this one-word form, SPMC will share everyone’s answers on LinkedIn.
