Dita Von Teese perfume bottle, carton
When it comes to celebrity perfumes, packaging designers are presented with a challenge: Create a package that matches the larger-than-life personality of the famous face behind the scent, while delivering stand-out shelf appeal in an already-crowded category.
Dita Von Teese, the namesake perfume created by the burlesque superstar in partnership with Liberty of London, is housed in an elegant folding carton (produced by The Edelmann Group) and atomizer-style bottle featuring rich reds and blacks, using both matte and glossy textures for visual excitement.
The inspiration for the color scheme: the deep-black and blood-red dresses and corsets favored by the performer. With an embossed frame, the PET silver foil lamination attracts attention to the elegant front of the packaging, which bears the dancer's name and emblem; the carton's inner surface also is a deep, custom red, adding to the pack's elegance. Both the box and the bottle are adorned with another touch of burlesque: a pair of tassels.
