Tube integrity tester

Q-Test, the first automated tube testing system for laminate and plastic tubes, can be supplied complete or as two separate systems: Q-Test 1 for leak, burst and torque measurements and Q-Test 2, which uses laser and vision technology, for length, diameter, ovality and side seam compression/overlap measurements. Suitable for quality control at tube manufacturers or product manufacturers with in-plant tube manufacturing, Q-Test was developed in cooperation with Colgate and a unit will be installed at Colgate's Morristown, TN, plant. The automated destructive tests are completed in about 45 sec. per tube per test, depending on the width of the tube. Tube size ranges from 22 to 50 mm in diameter and from 80 to 210 mm long. Using this system, QA/QC departments can advance from time-consuming manual pass/fail tests (which can be open to interpretation and produce inconsistent results) to fully automated and accurate predictive tools.
