Royal Box Group (The Royal Group), a manufacturer and distributor of corrugated packaging and display products, announced plans to expand its operations in Greenfield, IN, creating up to 32 new jobs by 2017.
The company, which currently has 16 locations across the country, will invest more than $3.8 million to construct and equip a new manufacturing facility at 2200 Royal Drive in Greenfield. As part of the project, the company will purchase new manufacturing machinery and information technology equipment for the approximately 47,000 square-foot expansion, with construction and new hiring expected to commence before the end of the year.
"The Royal Group could have built this new facility in a number of places, but they chose to do so in one of the top manufacturing states in the country," said Dan Hasler, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. "Indiana's reputation as a hub for manufacturing combined with our quality workforce and a low-tax policy continues to stand out."
The company, which currently has more than 35 full-time employees in Greenfield, plans to begin hiring additional manufacturing and sales associates later this year.
"We are thrilled to be expanding in Greenfield," said Jay King, president of the company's Indiana operations. "The state of Indiana and the city of Greenfield have created a business environment where companies can grow and prosper, even in a challenging national economic climate."
Having operated in Greenfield since the 1950s, the company moved to its current facility after its original factory was destroyed by a fire in 1999. Today, the company's comprehensive packaging and display services include computer-aided design, order entry, computer integrated manufacturing and distribution software.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Royal Box Group, LLC up to $350,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The city of Greenfield has approved real and personal property tax abatement.
