The National Food Laboratory LLC (The NFL), a food and beverage consulting and testing firm, received ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation on July 31, 2012 for its Tech Center in Livermore, CA.
This internationally recognized accreditation verifies The NFL has a quality management system and the technical requirements in place to provide consistent, reliable and accurate test results. The NFL's commitment to quality, along with new policies, procedures and operating practices, further makes certain The NFL's laboratories operate at the highest recognized standards.
The NFL's President and COO, Kevin Waters, notes, "We have been proud of our outstanding management systems and the level of support and service to our clients over the years. Now we have the official accreditation to attest to The NFL's high quality testing processes and our technical requirements."
As the food and beverage industry prepares for implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), and amid continuous concern regarding food quality and safety, The NFL's suite of food safety and quality consulting and testing services are in high demand.
"This accreditation for both microbiological and chemical testing confirms that we have the processes in place to aid our clients with their testing needs," says Julie Hill, vp, Chemistry.
The NFL is accredited by A2LA under the ISO 17025 requirements including compliance with "2010 AOAC International Accreditation Guidelines for Laboratories Performing Microbiological and Chemical Analyses of Food and Pharmaceuticals." A full list of accredited analyses and methods is available at A2LA.org, under certificate numbers 3298.01 and 3298.02. The NFL also participates in numerous other proficiency testing and certification programs including American Proficiency Institute, AOAC, FAPAS and California Department of Public Health.
