Campbell introduces new line of soups
Soup

Campbell Soup Co. announces a new entry into the premium soup category with its line of Campbell's Slow Kettle Style soups. Campbell chefs combined distinctive ingredients like Asiago cheese, Baby Bella mushrooms and white beans and slowly simmered them, to create Slow Kettle Style soups to be "better than homemade." These new premium soups represent five of the nearly three dozen new products Campbell is introducing in its U.S. Soup and Simple Meals business this fall.

"Although many brands have enjoyed success by offering premium products in categories like pasta and bread, the soup category hasbeen slow to respond."

Throughout a multi-year development process, Campbell chefs were provided with the opportunity to create exciting flavor combinations that deliver on the brand's promise that each soup has been "made with patience, not preservatives." The result is Campbell's Slow Kettle Style soups, which are unlike any others found in the soup aisle today.

The five new Campbell's Slow Kettle Style varieties include:

• Tuscan-Style Chicken and White Bean Soup with Asiago Cheese, Thyme & Rosemary
• Tomato and Sweet Basil Bisque with Fresh Cream & Ground Red Pepper
• Burgundy Beef Stew with Baby Bella Mushrooms, Roasted Garlic & Rosemary
• Portobello Mushroom and Madeira Bisque with Shallots, Thyme & Sage
• Southwest-Style Chicken Chili with Black Beans & Sweet Corn

"Although many brands have enjoyed success by offering premium products in categories like pasta and bread, the soup category has been slow to respond," said Ed Carolan, Vice President and General Manager, Soup and Simple Meals, Campbell Soup Co. "We believe the time is right to introduce a premium line of soups that addresses this opportunity. As people continue to become more interested in gourmet foods, they are seeking out products that offer an ‘everyday premium' experience. We anticipate that the new Slow Kettle Style soups will provide the quality they are seeking."

Campbell's Slow Kettle Style The new soups are now available in the soup aisle at supermarkets and mass retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99 per 15.5-ounce container. Campbell's Slow Kettle Style soups will be featured along with classic Campbell's Tomato and Chicken Noodle soups as part of the brand's $100 million "It's Amazing What Soup Can Do" advertising campaign.
