Beiersdorf lightweights Aquaphor and Eucerin jars, keeps familiar shapes
Beiersdorf has redesigned the packaging for its Aquaphor and Eucerin brand to reduce the jar's environmental footprint and save on material costs.
Beiersdorf was able to develop a solution that minimizes waste and simplifies production, while maintaining the familiar shape of the Aquaphor brand for easy consumer recognition. The new lightweighted cream jars—in a 500 ml size and double-wall version for the 150 ml size—are produced at the RPC Bramlage-Wiko USA site in Morgentown, Pa.
The products previously retailed in a thick wall cream jar, but Beiersdorf worked with RPC Bramlage-Wiko to develop a thinwall outer shell (based on the original 500 thickwall design), as well as a lightweighted 150 ml version.
All parts are injection molded in polypropylene. The outer wall is in white, to accentuate branding information on the transparent labels used by Beiersdorf. The lid is in blue, white and teal for an eye-catching contrast.
Sold in drugstores across the United States, Aquaphor Healing Ointment and Eucerin Moisturizing Creme are premium-positioned brands that are recommended and trusted by dermatologists, pediatricians and pharmacists for dry skin conditions. They are market leaders in therapeutic skin care and these brands are committed to bringing relevant skin care solutions and sought-after innovations to consumers.
