IMFA is a not-for-profit trade association with its mission to promote the products and services of its supporting membership and to expand the markets for renewable molded fiber products. Also, to encourage the use of sustainable packaging products for the improvement of our environment and conservation of materials.

IMFA was founded in 1997 by Joseph Grygny and Hubert Ranger, who have many years of experience in the industry. In 2010, IMFA was joined by, Cassandra Niesing, as Assistant Director to help expand IMFA services. Association headquarters is located in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area of the US, with membership of molded fiber product manufacturers, governmental agencies, universities and related organizations throughout the world. It is mainly supported by membership dues from the molded fiber industry and related organizations. IMFA with its extensive reasearch and experience, is the primary source of molded fiber product information and the only “exclusively” international molded fiber group worldwide.

Because there are many types and processes of molded fiber packaging (MFP), IMFA helps potential users identify the best sources and helps “zero-in” on their specific needs.
