Each bottle consists of two key components: a molded fiber shell, and a thin interior plastic pouch said to use as much as 70 percent less plastic than rigid plastic HDPE bottles. When finished with the package, the consumer pops open the shell to recycle or compost it, then recycle the #4 pouch.
