Amcor Makes Dow Jones Sustainability Index
January 30, 2014
Amcor Limited, with Business Groups that include America-based Amcor PET Packaging, was recently named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. Started in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) track the performance of sustainability-driven companies worldwide, providing reliable, objective benchmarks for asset managers with sustainability portfolios.
DJSI listed firms represent the top 10 percent of leading sustainability companies among the largest 2500 in the Dow Jones World Index. Selection is based on social, environmental and economic performance. Amcor says it’s one of only two firms within the containers and packaging sector to be chosen for the 2008 Index; 33 new companies were added this year.
“We are pleased to be included among this elite group of global corporations,” said William Long, President of Amcor PET Packaging. “The performance factors considered in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index selection process have long been engrained in our company culture.”
