Dr. Calvin Lakhan, Professor at York University and Academic Committee member to the Consortium For Waste Circularity, is devoted to research in the understanding of waste management and efficacy of policy on waste diversion. 

"Accept that current mechanical recycling infrastructure is no longer sufficient. It is critical that we embrace alternate forms of waste recovery to reach circularity such as waste to syngas to eco-methanol. We need to constantly question what we are being told. Decisions should be based on data and not on popular sentiment, so much of the narrative surrounding waste is driven by political and emotional narratives as evidenced in this chart. Brands, printers, and packaging suppliers can no longer afford to be passive in how waste is managed."
