ModusLink Global Solutions™, Inc. a company specializing in global supply chain business process management, will be speaking at the Sustainable Packaging Collation (SPC) Spring Meeting 2009.  Sean Sabre, regional supply chain manager, Americas, will speak on a panel entitled “Moving Forward in Economic Uncertainty,” which will feature a discussion with executives from REI, Dell, McDonalds and Sam’s Club. The session will focus on how to strengthen commitment to sustainability despite economic turmoil.

With the global economy in recession, companies are retooling their business models to adapt to changing market conditions. Organizations that incorporate sustainable practices into their business processes will drive added efficiencies and be better positioned for the eventual economic recovery. Through the use of real-life case studies based upon panelists’ experience, attendees will learn best practices for putting together an achievable sustainability program and the long-term benefits of successful sustainability strategies.

Sabre has more than 10 years of diverse supply chain and packaging experience in warehousing, transportation, procurement and design. In his current role, he manages a team of packaging procurement and packaging engineering professionals that source and design packaging solutions for ModusLink’s clients, including some of the world’s largest technology and consumer electronics brands.

ModusLink recently announced its Sustainable Solutions Suite, which is designed to help organizations incorporate sustainable supply chain best practices. The Suite includes services ranging from package design to network optimization and simulation, to Greenhouse Gas (GHG) footprinting.

In addition to providing sustainable supply chain services to its clients, ModusLink participates in a number of organizations dedicated to promoting sustainability including the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, Wal-Mart’s Sustainable Value Network (SVN), National Recycling Coalition and Southeast Recycling Development Council.
