Lisa Pierce, Executive Editor, Packaging Digest
“After the suspension in March 2020 of most in-person events and business travel because of COVID-19, I am grateful for the return of face-to-face meetings. I missed that physical connection so much!
“I was able to attend three packaging tradeshows this year: WestPack in August, Pack Expo Las Vegas at the end of September, and PackEx Toronto in mid-November. (Fingers crossed, I’m still virus free, although now ready for my vax booster.)
“Based on the reaction of other people at these events, many share my relief and enthusiasm that our world is finding equilibrium between health safety and business revival. May it continue and strengthen after 2022 comes a’knockin’.
“On a more personal note, I’d like to thank the people in my sphere — including you! — for your understanding and patience as I struggled to get to this point. The future is fluid, and challenges, of course, await. While my usual ‘Bring it on!’ attitude is bouncing back, I wasn’t so…resilient…during the pandemic. I let the twin evils of worry and fear sit stubbornly on my shoulders like a bad case of dandruff. Well, no more. Flick! Flick!!
“I’m grateful every day for the purposeful life I have and enjoy. Family. Friends. God. Nature. Health. Meaningful work.
“I wish the same for you and yours. Happy Thanksgiving 2021!”
