Hello Products good design

Hello Products LLC, the world's first line of seriously friendly oral care products, is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a 2013 Good Design Award for Design Excellence. Chosen from thousands of entries submitted from more than 38 countries around the world, hello was selected for this honor less than nine months after debuting on store shelves in the United States. Created in partnership with BMW Group DesignworksUSA, a subsidiary of BMW Group, hello's distinctive packaging offers a refreshing departure from the unfriendly-looking bottles and crinkly tubes that consumers have put up with for too long.

"The oral care aisle is full of aggressive and masculine packaging featuring extracted teeth and frightening words like 'kill' and 'fight.' That's why we took claim to the seriously friendly side of oral care with our messaging and our product design," says Craig Dubitsky, founder and friendly ceo of hello products. "We worked alongside the best designers in the world to create the friendliest experience possible, and to introduce efficacious, safe, highly-natural and delicious products that embody what hello oral care is all about—a super friendly and healthy mouth."

In creating the design for this new product line, hello and BMW Group DesignworksUSA sought the perfect balance of form and function to bring the brand's seriously friendly spirit to life, incorporating a soft, curved aesthetic and thoughtful, user-centric precision. All packaging on the mouthwashes, sprays and toothpastes are 100 percent custom, proprietary designs—from the pour-and-swig rings on the mouthwashes, to the sleek click-and-go sprays, to the "pastry bag tip" on the toothpaste. Every aspect of the design, and how it relates to the user experience, was examined and optimized for friendliness.

The Good Design Awards Program is organized annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The awards program is one of the world's most prestigious and longest-standing design awards programs and recognizes new consumer products designed and manufactured in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. The trademarked awards were created in Chicago in 1950 by three architects: Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr.
