The Flexible Packaging Association’s 60th Annual Meeting was a success by all measures. With the number of FPA member attendees the highest in over a decade and content that provided significant take-home value, the membership was fully engaged.

Speakers included Chunka Mui, the co-author of Billion-Dollar Lessons, What You Can Learn from the Most Inexcusable Business Failures of the Last 25 Years. Chunka is the Managing Director of the Devil’s Advocate Group and among his many accomplishments, he initiated the term “the killer app.”

The meeting keynote speaker was Andrew Sorkin, The New York Time’s chief merger and acquisitions reporter, and author of Too Big To Fail, the Inside Story of How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System and Themselves. Sorkin’s presentation was particularly insiteful and timely since he addressed the FPA membership the same day his article on the most recent Lehman Brothers problem was published on the front page of The New York Times.

Other speakers included Nick Vafiadis of CMAI, Tom Blaige of Thomas Blaige & Company, Tim Wilson of Meijer Inc., Stefan Glimm of Flexible Packaging Europe, and John Baumann, Ampac Packaging and Chairman of the board of FPA.
In addition to the great content, the FPA Meeting also provided many networking opportunities for the membership and the presentation of the Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards.
