Label facestock

Label facestock

New Fasson Direct-Thermal 200HD label facestock with S490 adhesive has been approved by the Assn. of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers for the recycling of PET thermoform containers. The new protocol helps identify a pressure-sensitive laminate that satisfies both the need to adhere and to be removed prior to recycling, thereby allowing PET thermoformed packaging to be recycled in an efficient manner, the company states. The label facestock is a smooth, white paper with a medium sensitivity thermal coating. A special coating provides protection for the thermal layer and maximizes life of the printhead. This product is suitable in a variety of direct-thermal printers, especially those typically used in grocery weigh-scale applications.

The Quick Zip pouch with self-gripping fastener system uses an easy-open, resealable zipper closure method that encompasses self-mating hooks and/or loops. Available in any style pouch where press-to-close standard zippers currently are used, the Quick Zip pouch provides convenience with its ease of closure due to minimal requirements for zipper alignment, the company states. The pouches are contaminant-resistant and readily seal through powders and fine particles. The pouch's structure allows for numerous openings and closings without damage to the pouch or degradation of sealing hold, the company claims.

Moisture barrier films

Moisture barrier films

Pentapharm Aclar PA600/02 films are made with Honeywell's 152-micron Aclar UltRx6000, to provide an increase in moisture barrier. Suitable for solid oral-dose packaging, powders, ethical drugs, OTC, generics, physician samples, veterinary medicines and nutraceuticals that require an ultra-high moisture barrier, the films are a cost-effective solution, as they allow for small footprint packages, which require less material and total cost/package. The films are transparent, non-yellowing and offer excellent machinability on existing standard f/f/s packaging lines and tooling. With rigid vinyl as the product contact layer, the films offer excellent sealability to common vinyl-compatible lidstocks.

Protective packaging

Protective packaging

Simpads protective cushions are made from high-strength plastic film envelopes, which are filled with 100 percent recycled, high-density expanded polystyrene beads. The bag is then vacuumed sealed, which results in a pad that is rigid enough to ship flat and flexible enough to conform around an object and maintain the shape of that object to provide adequate protection throughout the supply chain.
