BUYING & ALLYING
Markem-Imaje Corp. acquires RSI Systems, a leading manufacturer of integrated thermal inkjet (TIJ) printing solutions. RSI will continue to offer its leading products and services to its customers under the RSI brand while operating as a separate division of Markem-Imaje.


Pro Mach Inc.'s ID Technology division acquires Toronto, Ontario-based Colet, a leading label manufacturer and provider of packaging supplies. This will allow ID Technology to more effectively support and serve Canadian customers.


Tetra Pak signs an agreement with Braskem for the supply of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) made from sugar cane to its packaging material factories in Brazil. 


BPA Group acquires Racupack BV located in Culemborg, The Netherlands. Racupack will continue its operations under BPA Racupack BV. 


Ecologic Brands Inc. is opening its first production facility in the U.S. The 60,000-sq-ft facility in Manteca, CA, will enable production volume of Ecologic's line of molded fiber bottles to increase from 6 to 60 million units per year.
