The Tea Experience packaging

UK-based online retailer The Tea Experience supplies discerning customers with a wide range of fine merchandise, much of it highly breakable. To ensure its precious wares reach customers in one piece, the retailer turned to Smurfit Kappa to produce protective one-piece cardboard packaging that guards the precious cargo and looks attractive on arrival. Smurfit Kappa produced four designs, which can be used individually or in combination to create gift packs. The company endeavored to keep costs to a minimum by eliminating the need for custom-made packaging for individual items, and minimizing the amount of packaging needing to be stocked, with diecut internal flaps that cut the need for secondary packaging.

E-Flute board is used to create internal fittings, more rigid B-Flute for outer cases and fittings. The look is completed with brown Kraft liner and a high-gloss label. The end result is a box that is as sustainable and attractive as it is sturdy.
"We tested the boxes by throwing them out of upstairs windows onto concrete floors with no damage to the contents," says Ann Davis, business owner of The Tea Experience. The boxes are attractive, easy to construct and environmentally sound."
