Oskar Blues Brewery of Colorado and Sun King Brewing Co. of Indiana have partnered on Chaka, a limited-run handcrafted Belgian-style ale. Because the beer is one-of-a-kind, the two breweries decided the beverage called for packaging that matched its singularity.

The team ultimately selected a colorful, eye-catching design and opted to bottle the singular brew in 16-oz resealable Alumi-Tek aluminum bottles from Ball Corp. According to Chad Melis, marketing director for Oskar Blues, the bottles offer stand-out status not available with glass bottles or conventional cans.

"Craft beer in aluminum bottles is another step forward in the evolution of beer," he says. "Unique packaging like the Alumi-Tek bottle provides both Oskar Blues and Sun King the differentiation we needed to make our limitedrelease beers distinct from our core lines-plus, the sleek bottle shape is appealing to our customers."

Features and benefits of the aluminum bottle include portability, resealable twist-off cap and a wide mouth opening for a smooth pour. Further, the 100 percent recyclable bottle is lightweight, unbreakable, efficient to ship and store, provides an excellent brand billboard, cools quickly and protects the precious brew inside from light and oxygen.

The brew will be available at beer festivals and in the breweries' home states for a limited time.
