Surface finish technology

Alcan's MatteFX technology allows brand owners to alternate matte and gloss finishes on the same package, says the company. A registered viewing window and the additional capability to accommodate tactile finishes allows MatteFX to improve brand perception on shelf and achieve competitive differentiation. MatteFX can be used on flexible films and pouches for a wide range of food and packaged goods applications. The surface finish technology is also compatible with Alcan Packaging's 10-color flexographic and rotogravure printing and LaserTear® laser scoring, to provide a total brand experience.
