The Glass Packaging Institute (GPI) invites entries to the 2009 Clear Choice Awards. This year, it says it's shaking things up by holding a “virtual” Clear Choice Awards event. The 2009 Clear Choice Awards winners will be announced on the GPI website the week of Sept. 21, during GPI’s Recycle Glass Week. To enter the 2009 Clear Choice Awards, just fill out an e-Call-for-Entries form. GPI will honor up to three top package designs in each of the following categories: Alcoholic Beverage, Non-Alcoholic Beverage, and Food. Industry judges will also choose one package design to receive the Clear Choice Award for Overall Package Design, and honor all eligible entries with GPI’s Conversion Recognition.

Judges will vote to name the winning packages as the best glass packaging designs in North America. All 2009 Clear Choice Award winners will be displayed at the Worldwide Food Expo in Chicago, Oct. 28 to 31, and at The Showcase of Packaging Innovations® at PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2009 Oct. 5 to 7.

During GPI's Recycle Glass Week, along with promoting the 2009 Clear Choice Awards winners, the association will hold national glass events and recognize the 2009 “Friends of Glass” honorees.

Visit GPI's website (www.gpi.org/clear-choice-awards/) to check out past winners and find out more information on submission guidelines. There is no fee to enter. All entries must be postmarked by Thursday, July 30, 2009.
